The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a qualified contractor to complete tree removal and piling at the Hummel Tract of the Heendah Hills Wildlife Area. The work includes removal and piling of trees within up to 42 acres of the Hummel Tract in Plymouth County, Iowa. All trees 3 inches diameter and greater must be cut as low to the ground as possible, with deciduous stumps treated with DNR-provided chemical. Tree debris must be piled in locations designated by the DNR. Access is via County Highway 12 and a retired farm lane, with steep areas possibly requiring chainsaws, straps, and/or winches to move material for piling.
