Amtrak is seeking bids for the removal and purchase of approximately 60 gross tons of scrap rail and other track materials (OTM) from its Quad Ave Base in Baltimore, MD. - Buyer: National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak), Office of Engineering and Asset Management Team - Products/Materials: - Approximately 60 gross tons of scrap rail and OTM, available 'AS IS-WHERE IS' for onsite cutting and removal - Vehicle grounding equipment (grounding cables, clamps, reels, hardware) for various vehicle classes (utility trucks, dump trucks, forestry trucks, boom trucks, tie handlers, cranes) - Self-adhesive ANSI green and black warning labels/placards for vehicle safety compliance - Services: - Loading, hauling, and removal of scrap rail and materials (contractor provides all equipment, labor, and supervision) - Mandatory Amtrak Contractor Safety & Rules Orientation online course for all contractor personnel (fee applies) - Notable Requirements: - All removal work must comply with Amtrak's safety and contractor training requirements, including completion of the online safety orientation course and obtaining a contractor ID badge - Railroad Protective Liability Insurance (RRLI) is mandatory; bidders may request inclusion under Amtrak's blanket policy for an additional fee - No subcontracting permitted; all weights must be verified at an independent, certified scale at no cost to Amtrak - Bidders must submit a gross ton price based on the Philadelphia market for No. 1 heavy melt scrap - Removal must be completed within 30 calendar days from the notice to proceed; payment terms are net 14 days - Site visits are optional and must be coordinated with Amtrak - OEMs: No specific OEMs are named for the scrap rail or grounding equipment; products must meet Amtrak's technical and safety standards

Description

This solicitation is for the sale and removal of approximately 60 gross tons of scrap rail and other materials located at 6301 Quad Ave, Baltimore, MD. The rail and other track materials (OTM) can be cut onsite for removal. Bidders are required to provide their own equipment for loading and hauling away the materials. A Railroad Protective Liability Insurance (RRLI) is required. Site visits are optional but must be coordinated with the onsite contact.
