Sedgwick County is seeking bids for a comprehensive restoration of the Adult Detention Facility Kitchen in Wichita, KS. - Government Buyer: - Sedgwick County Finance Department (Purchasing Department) - OEMs and Vendors: - Approved cabling OEMs: Panduit, Belden, Commscope, Leviton, Corning - Kitchen equipment supplier: Cook's Correctional - Products and Equipment Requested: - New kitchen equipment: tilting skillet braising pan, convection steamer, tilting kettle, HD range, pass-thru heated cabinet, hot food table, roller conveyor (all supplied by Cook's Correctional) - Salvaged and reinstalled equipment: ice maker, dishtable & dishwasher, convection oven, mixer, sinks & dishtable, prep table, wire shelving - Category 6 horizontal data cable system (Cat 6 UTP cabling, modular jacks, patch panels, patch cords, faceplates, fiber optic backbone cabling, connectors, patch panels, patch cords) - Telecommunication racks and cable management systems (19-inch racks, power strips, grounding bars, cable managers, raceways) - Mechanical equipment upgrades (AHU-15 preheat coil, AHU-16 replacement/upsizing, exhaust system modifications, condensing units, refrigeration equipment) - Plumbing fixtures (floor troughs, eye wash stations, specified manufacturers/models) - Electrical fixtures and devices (LED lighting, receptacles for mobile heating cabinets, wiring/conduit) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Mandatory pre-bid meeting for all bidders and subcontractors - Licensed general contractors required; 5% bid security and performance bonds - Removal and replacement of kitchen equipment and infrastructure - Approved OEMs for cabling and telecommunication systems - Liquidated damages of $500 per day for project delays - Contractor must state completion time in calendar days from Notice to Proceed - Kitchen design improvements include a new food tray assembly line

Description

This solicitation is for the restoration of the Adult Detention Facility Kitchen located at 141 W Elm St. Wichita, KS. The project scope includes replacing ceilings (grids and panels), new paint, new epoxy flooring, replacing rusted hollow metal frames and broken glazing, and mechanical upgrades such as replacing underground sanitary sewer piping and associated floor drains. Additional mechanical work includes adding a preheat coil to AHU-15, upgrading temperature controls, replacing and upsizing AHU-16, and installing new exhaust systems for dishwashers and the pots and pans area. Electrical work involves replacing existing light fixtures with new LED lighting and providing new receptacles for mobile heating cabinets. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on site to discuss the project and answer questions.
