Description

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is seeking project proposals to expand participation in Minnesota's organics recycling system. The grant funds projects focused on organics collection programs, outreach and education to improve or increase organics recycling, and market development for finished compost and anaerobic digestion (AD) outputs. Projects primarily focused on organics processing facilities such as compost sites and anaerobic digesters are not eligible. The program aims to reduce wasted food and food scraps disposed of through landfilling or incineration by increasing participation in organics recycling. Eligible projects must include an educational or outreach component and a plan for measuring and evaluating project results. The grant agreements must conclude by August 31, 2029, with no extensions available.
