The City of Ames, Iowa is seeking a contractor for the Split Treatment Modifications Project at its Water Treatment Plant. - Government Buyer: - City of Ames, Water & Pollution Control Department, Water Treatment Plant - Key contacts: Amanda Moore (Procurement Specialist II), John Dunn (Director of Water & Pollution Control) - OEMs and Vendors: - Andritz (manufacturer of ACP100-200.5S centrifugal pumps) - Badger Meter (manufacturer of ModMAG M2000 electromagnetic flow meters) - Schneider and Eaton (preferred manufacturers for variable frequency drives) - Products Requested: - Two Andritz ACP100-200.5S centrifugal pumps (or approved equivalent) - 4-inch discharge, 400 gpm flow, 5 ft head, 2 hp motor, semi-open impeller - Two variable frequency drives (VFDs) for pumps, from Schneider, Eaton, or alternates - Six ModMAG M2000 electromagnetic flow meters (Badger Meter, owner-furnished) - Approximately 35 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe and associated fittings (tees, elbows, reducers, valves) - Flanged expansion joints, concrete pads for pump support, removable safety bollards - Additional valves: tapping saddles, gate valves, butterfly valves, check valves, spool pieces - Services Requested: - Live tap of two 24-inch water lines - Installation of all piping, valves, pumps, fittings, and flow meters - Electrical work: conduit, high voltage wiring, communication cables, integration of VFDs and flow meters into SCADA system - Calibration and integration of flow meters - Compliance with site security, OSHA standards, and Iowa Administrative Code - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All materials must comply with ANSI/AWWA and ASTM standards - Preference for Iowa-grown products, coal, and labor - Contractor must provide all labor, tools, equipment, and materials (except owner-furnished flow meters) - Bidder must submit Bidder Status Form and bid bond - One-year maintenance guarantee after completion - Integration with SCADA system is required for pumps and flow meters

Description

The City of Ames, Iowa, is soliciting bids for the Split Treatment Modifications Project at the Ames Water Treatment Plant located at 1800 E. 13th Street, Ames, IA. The project involves installation of new pipe, valves, pumps, and fittings, including live taps of two 24-inch water lines, installation of ductile iron pipe and fittings, centrifugal pumps with variable frequency drives, and an electromagnetic flow meter. The contractor is responsible for all electrical work related to the pumps and drives, as well as integration into the SCADA system. Work must be substantially completed by March 26, 2027, and bids must be submitted electronically by September 23, 2026.
