The City of Lawrence, Kansas, is seeking bids for the Willshire Drive Storm Sewer Improvements project, managed by the Municipal Services & Operations Department. - Government Buyer: - City of Lawrence, Municipal Services & Operations Department (MSO - CMED) - Scope of Work: - Removal and replacement of existing pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and storm sewer infrastructure - Installation of approximately: - 250 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter (24", Type CG-1) - 140 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter (24", Type CG-3) - 37 square yards of concrete sidewalk (4") - 130 square yards of concrete pavement (6", reinforced, 4K) - 9 square yards of concrete pavement (10", reinforced, 5K) - 85 square yards of concrete pavement (8", reinforced, 4K) - 712 linear feet of 24-inch polypropylene pipe - 139 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe - Storm sewer inlets, junction boxes, and ADA-compliant detectable warning panels - Asphalt patching and edge patching - Removal and replacement of wood fence, ramps, and storm inlet aprons - Utility adjustments and earthwork - Services Required: - Traffic control (temporary signage, lane closures, MUTCD standards) - Erosion and sediment control (silt fence, inlet sediment barriers, storm water pollution prevention) - Construction staking, mobilization, clearing & grubbing, and restoration of disturbed areas - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with ADA guidelines for sidewalks and ramps - Adherence to Kansas Act Against Discrimination and City storm water pollution prevention codes - Bid bond of at least 5% required - Liquidated damages of $500 per day for delays - Maintenance bond period of 2 years from completion - All bids must be submitted electronically via the City’s procurement portal - No specific OEMs are named; materials must meet technical specifications for concrete, pipe, and stormwater structures - Estimated contract duration is 120 days from Notice to Proceed, with phased approvals and multi-year timeline possible

This project involves the removal and replacement of existing pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and storm sewer infrastructure on Willshire Drive in Lawrence. The scope includes construction of approximately 250 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter, 58 square yards of concrete sidewalk, 220 square yards of concrete pavement, 712 linear feet of 24-inch polypropylene pipe, 139 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe, storm sewer inlets, and junction boxes. Additional work includes pavement patching, traffic control, erosion control, and all other necessary tasks to complete the project.
