Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Tongass National Forest has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects. The inventory identified human remains representing at least 10 individuals and nine associated funerary objects. There is a cultural affiliation between these human remains and associated funerary objects and the Sitka Tribe of Alaska. Repatriation of the human remains and associated funerary objects may occur on or after October 16, 2026.
