SUNY Downstate Surgical Lighting System Replacement and Installation for 14 Operating Suites

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking bids for the replacement and installation of surgical lighting systems in 14 operating suites at its Brooklyn campus. - Government Buyer: - State University of New York (SUNY), SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, Contracts & Procurement Office - OEMs and Vendors: - Skytron (incumbent OEM) - Equivalent products from other manufacturers are acceptable - Products Requested: - 12 dual-head LED surgical lighting systems (Skytron Model AUA55 or equivalent) - Dual 24" diameter lightheads for Main Operating Rooms and Labor & Delivery ORs - 2 triple-head LED surgical lighting systems (Skytron Model AUA555 or equivalent) - Triple 24" diameter lightheads with continuous 360° rotation and vertical travel minimum 110 - All necessary mounting hardware, electrical connections, controls, and accessories - Services Requested: - De-installation and disposal of existing Skytron surgical lights (14 units) - Installation of new lighting systems (14 units) - White glove delivery service - Testing, calibration, commissioning, and final acceptance - Onsite clinical in-service training (80 hours total, covering day and night shifts) - Technical training for facilities engineering staff - Two-year warranty covering batteries, parts, and labor - Preventive maintenance and 24/7/365 system support - Delivery of as-built drawings, operation manuals, warranty documents, and service schedules - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All work must be performed by factory-trained, certified technicians - Compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection-control standards - Coordination with hospital departments to minimize disruption to clinical operations - MWBE and SDVOB participation goals - Systems must be compatible with existing mounting structures and standard ceiling heights - Extended service and maintenance program participation required

Description

The State University of New York at Downstate Health Sciences University (SUNY-DHSU) is seeking qualified vendors to provide and install surgical lighting systems for 14 surgical suites, including 12 Main Operating Rooms and 2 Labor & Delivery Operating Rooms. The project involves replacing existing surgical lights with ceiling-mounted LED systems, including removal, installation, testing, commissioning, and final acceptance. The work must minimize disruption to clinical operations and include manufacturer documentation, warranty, onsite clinical and technical training, and coordination of any necessary modifications to ceiling or electrical infrastructure. The contract term is two years.
