The Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highways Division, is seeking bids for the construction of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure in the Waimea, Koloa, and Lihue districts on Kauai Island. - Government Buyer: - Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highways Division - Scope of Work: - Construction of concrete bases for traffic signal cabinets (28 units; cabinets provided by others) - Trenching (475 cubic yards), trench backfill (463 cubic yards), and removal of concrete structures (32 square yards) - Installation of underground PVC conduits (various types and sizes, totaling thousands of linear feet) - Installation of pullboxes (Type A, 3 units) - Portland cement concrete pavement with curb & gutter (8 square yards) and sidewalk (24 square yards) - Aggregate subbase course (15 cubic yards) - Hydro-mulch seeding (343 square yards) and maintenance of existing landscape areas - Work zone traffic control, mobilization, and protection of threatened and endangered species - Implementation of Best Management Practices for water pollution, dust, and erosion control - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Contractor must possess a valid State of Hawaii General Engineering A license - Compliance with Hawaii state and federal statutes, including equal opportunity and nondiscrimination - Project duration is 180 working days from the start work date - All proposals must be submitted electronically via the HIePRO portal - No specific OEMs or part numbers for traffic signal cabinets or electronics are provided, as this is a civil construction project
