NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking a flight-qualified monochrome imaging subsystem for the TERP RAPTOR 12U CubeSat mission to asteroid Apophis. - Sole source procurement to DRAGONFLY AEROSPACE (PTY) LTD. - Imaging subsystem must include: - Flight model monochrome imager (1 unit) - Resolves surface features at 0.5 m/pixel or better - Fits within 1U CubeSat volume - Weighs less than 0.5 kg - Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of at least 40 - User-configurable integration time - Panchromatic bandpass filter - Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) (1 unit) - For functional checkout and integration - Flight software and operating documentation (1 set) - Includes calibration data, interface documentation, characterization reports, and acceptance test results - Technical support required during instrument acceptance, spacecraft integration, and initial functional verification - Delivery of all hardware required by July 2027 - Unit testing and integration scheduled from July 1, 2027, through October 31, 2027 - NAICS code: 336419 - NASA intends to proceed with sole source award unless a competitive alternative is identified - Interested parties may submit qualifications for consideration

Description

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for acquire a flight-qualified imaging subsystem for the TERP RAPTOR 12U CubeSat mission to asteroid Apophis.. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to   DRAGONFLY AEROSPACE (PTY) LTD. 16 Elektron Road  Techno Park  Stellenbosch, Western Cape 7600 South Africa  under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that   DRAGONFLY AEROSPACE (PTY) LTD.  is the sole provider of acquire a flight-qualified imaging subsystem for the TERP RAPTOR 12U CubeSat mission to asteroid Apophis.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 336419.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 9/17/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
