The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), Government Publishing and Printing Procurement, is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive document scanning and digitization services for approximately 320,000 Department of Defense documents stored in New Orleans, LA. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), Government Publishing and Printing Procurement - Scope of Work: - Boxing, pickup, and secure transportation of 106-128 boxes of original documents from New Orleans - Scanning of approximately 320,000 documents in various sizes: - Up to 224,000 images sized up to 8-1/2 x 11 inches - 48,000 images over 8-1/2 x 11 inches up to 8-1/2 x 14 inches - 32,000 images over 8-1/2 x 14 inches up to 11 x 17 inches - 16,000 images over 11 x 17 inches up to 24 x 36 inches - Digitization of 20 CDs - Image cleanup, conversion to multi-page PDFs in RGB color mode, and application of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) - Delivery of all digitized files on two contractor-provided portable hard drives - Secure storage of original documents for six months post-scanning, maintaining chain of custody - Secure shredding of all originals after written government approval, with a letter of destruction required - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Handling of fragile and oversized documents - Written security control plan required - Chain of custody must be maintained throughout the process - Contractor must provide all necessary equipment and hard drives - No specific OEMs or equipment brands are mandated; the opportunity is open to qualified scanning service providers.

Description

Prepare documents for scanning, scanning douments of standard sizes (8.5x11", 8.5x14", and 11x17"). Quality Control Checking, Convert to PDF documents, OCR is required, Delivery on 2 suitable hard drives provided by contractor. Shredding once government approval in writitng is provided.  Contractor must provide written security control plan.
