The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is proposing an extension without change of a currently approved information collection. This collection involves the Application To Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status using Form I-539. The form is used by nonimmigrants to apply for an extension of stay, change to another nonimmigrant classification, or to obtain V nonimmigrant classification. The estimated total annual burden is 2,047,845 hours with an estimated total annual cost burden of $148,074,952. Comments on this collection are accepted until November 13, 2026.
