Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Cibola National Forest & National Grasslands, intends to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) to assess the effects of the proposed Plan of Operations submitted by Roca Honda Resources, LLC for the development and operations of the Roca Honda Mine Project. The project involves developing and operating an underground uranium mine on National Forest System, Bureau of Land Management-administered lands, as well as private and state lands. The EIS will evaluate potential environmental impacts and the project may require a project-specific amendment to the Cibola National Forest Land Management Plan. Comments on the scope of the analysis are solicited during a 30-day comment period ending October 14, 2026.
