Description
The KC-135 anti-collision strobe lights are high density dual color strobe lights and are mounted on the top and bottom of the fuselage. The strobe lights flash at a rate of 45 – 60 flashes per minute. They are powered by separate power supplies. For the upper strobe light, the power supply is located inside the fuselage below the strobe light, mounted on the side of the air conditioning duct. For the lower strobe light, the power supply is located in the keel beam on standard tankers or mounted on the side of an air conditioning duct in the upper part of fuselage for remaining aircraft. Each power supply is powered by 28 Vdc.
