Oak Ridge National Laboratory, operated by UT-Battelle under the Department of Energy, is seeking industry input for the design and fabrication of modular hot cells for its Radioisotope Production Facility. - Government Buyer: - Department of Energy - Oak Ridge National Laboratory (UT-Battelle, LLC) - Scope of Work: - Design of Transloading Modular Hot Cells (MHCs) - Design of Processing Modular Hot Cells - Fabrication, shipment, installation, and testing of one Transloading MHC - Options for up to six additional Transloading MHCs and seven Processing MHCs - Products/Services Requested: - Transloading Modular Hot Cell: 1 unit (base), with options for 6 more - Processing Modular Hot Cell: up to 7 units (option) - Deliverables include design packages, shielding analysis, fabrication, shipment, installation, and testing - Unique Requirements: - Modular hot cells must provide radiological confinement for irradiated target processing - Hot cells must include liners, penetrations, shielding, windows, telemanipulator interfaces, ventilation, and cask interaction hardware - Completion targeted by 2034, with RFP expected in late 2027 - No specific OEMs or vendors are mentioned; industry input is requested
