Description

The Department of Defense announces the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) following evaluation of the potential environmental effects of constructing and operating an integrated non-ferrous smelting and refining facility and associated infrastructure in Montgomery County, Tennessee. The assessment was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and involved consultation with various agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Tennessee State Historic Preservation Officer. The project, known as Project Crucible, was found not to significantly affect the quality of the human environment. The Final EA and FONSI are available electronically for public review.
