Description
This solicitation is for advanced planning and subsequent capital improvements to evaluate and implement renewal of aging HVAC and supporting infrastructure serving Cornerstone Hall, Keystone House, Innovation House, and the associated Tri-House energy plant at UNC Wilmington. The project includes replacement or refurbishment of air-handling units, controls, heating and chilled-water components, distribution systems, and related electrical, plumbing, building-envelope, and supporting work as required. The goal is to improve reliability and energy performance, reduce maintenance demands and risk of unplanned failures, maintain safe and comfortable residential environments, and extend the useful life of these University housing assets. The current authorization is for advanced planning only, with the possibility of retention through full design and construction at the University's option. The project budget listed is for the Advance Planning/Early Design Phase only.
