SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking qualified architect and engineering teams for a major renovation of its Cancer Center. - Government Buyer: - State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University - Contracts and Campus Purchasing Office - Scope of Work: - Full architectural and engineering design services for renovation of approximately 21,000–23,000 sq ft on the 5th floor and 1,600 sq ft on the 2nd floor of the Cancer Center - Services include programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding support, and construction administration - Project supports expansion of Hematology-Oncology, pharmacy relocation, and new clinical spaces - Renovation will be phased to accommodate ongoing departmental operations - Includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural modifications, and infrastructure upgrades - Vendor Requirements: - Minimum 5 years’ experience designing Article 28 infusion and pharmacy facilities in hospital environments - Must be legally authorized by NYS Education Department to do business in New York State - Proof of NYS Worker’s Compensation and Disability Insurance required - M/WBE participation goals: 15% Minority-Owned, 15% Women-Owned; 6% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned - Notable Vendors: - Stantec and Dwyer have held similar contracts in the past five years - No formal site visit prior to submission - Submissions must include both a hard copy and a flash drive copy of qualifications - Compliance with M/WBE and EEO workforce participation is mandatory

SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking qualifications for full design services including programming, design, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration for the renovation of approximately 21,000 to 23,000 square feet on the fifth floor and 1,600 square feet on the second floor of the Cancer Center. The renovation aims to support the growth of the cancer program by expanding clinical services, increasing patient capacity, and introducing new technologies to enhance patient care and revenue opportunities. The project will be completed in phases due to existing departments occupying the space. A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing article 28 infusion and pharmacy facilities within a hospital environment is required for the architectural firm and its team members. Qualifications must be submitted as two complete packages, one with original signatures and one on a flash drive, by 2:00 PM on October 5, 2026.
