NASA Sole Source Service Contract for D8 Discover DaVinci XRD Instrument Maintenance

NASA Glenn Research Center is seeking a sole source service contract for maintenance and support of its D8 Discover DaVinci XRD instrument. - The contract will be awarded to BRUKER AXS LLC, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the D8 Discover DaVinci. - Services include emergency and scheduled maintenance, hardware coverage (excluding x-ray source), software updates, priority response, augmented reality support, planned maintenance (with travel and labor), detector coverage, and LabScape cloud services. - Additional benefits: free telephone and unlimited remote desktop support, 10% discounts on anodes, x-ray tubes/sources, and training. - All services must be performed by factory-trained engineers, with a 48-hour response time for breakdowns during business hours. - The period of performance is one year, from September 10, 2026, to September 9, 2027. - The NAICS code is 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance). - NASA is accepting capability statements from interested organizations, but price quotes are not being reviewed at this stage. - Only BRUKER AXS LLC is mentioned as the OEM; competitors may include other XRD instrument manufacturers, but the contract is intended as sole source. - No specific part numbers or quantities are listed; the contract covers comprehensive maintenance and support services for the D8 Discover DaVinci XRD instrument.

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for 2026 Service contract for D8 Discover DaVinci. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to BRUKER AXS LLC, 5465 E Cheryl PKWY Fitchburg, Wisconsin 53711, under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that BRUKER AXS LLC is the sole provider of 2026 Service contract for D8 Discover DaVinci

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Glenn Research Center (GRC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 811210.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 9/15/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
