The Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) are seeking innovative, integrated technologies to enable Relocatable Transportable Camps (RTCs) to operate independently and sustainably in Arctic and sub-Arctic environments, complying with Canadian environmental and health regulations. The challenge focuses on developing and testing integrated cold-weather water and waste technologies suitable for Arctic winter conditions. Proposed solutions must integrate water purification, wastewater treatment, and solid waste reduction for camps of up to 50 personnel, fit within a standard 20 ft sea container, operate continuously in extreme cold down to -40°C, and reduce resupply volume and frequency by at least 75%.
