Bastrop County is requesting bids for a drainage improvement project on Cardinal Dr at the Alum Creek Tributary within the 100 Block of Cardinal Dr. The project area provides critical habitat for the federally endangered Houston Toad, and a permitted Houston Toad monitor will be deployed during construction. The work includes installation of erosion control measures, traffic control, demolition of existing culverts and roadway, grading, construction of two rigid concrete box culverts with headwalls, pavement repair, and site stabilization. All contracted personnel will be trained by a Houston Toad Biologist prior to commencing work, and avoidance and minimization measures are detailed in the project plans and specifications.
