The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is seeking specialized equipment for swine care and handling: - Government Buyer: - Department of Veterans Affairs, Cincinnati VA Medical Center (Regional Procurement Office East) - Products Requested: - Five swine kennels for Yucatan pigs - Each kennel must support pigs up to 300 pounds - Minimum 24 square feet of internal usable space - Mobile or stationary options; if mobile, must include wheel and lock system - User-friendly assembly and disassembly (no tools required) - Integrated water and feeding systems - Stainless steel pan assemblies - Materials suitable for power washing - One mobile swine transport cart - Must accommodate swine up to 300 pounds - Includes wheel and locking mechanism - One swine lift with swing - Manual or automatic operation - Must accommodate swine up to 300 pounds - Unique Requirements: - No building or room modifications required - Minimum one-year warranty on all equipment - Service or replacement must be provided within 48 hours of malfunction notification - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Notable: Equipment must be easy to assemble/disassemble and suitable for rigorous cleaning

SPECIAL NOTICE

DESCRIPTION

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Cincinnati VA Medical Center, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The items needed is Swine Kennels and the salient and specs will read As follows.

Physical & Functional Characteristics:

Qty (5) Must be sufficient for swine Yucatan pigs with a weight capacity of at least 300. Exterior dimensions must be 24square feet kennels. Kennels can be mobile or stationary. However, if the cages are stationary, they must user friendly assembly and disassembly. Kennel must have 24 square feet of internal usable space. Must have wheel and lock system if it is a mobile. Must have water and feeding system. Material must be suitable for power washing. Must provide stainless steel pan assembly.

Qty (1) Mobile swine transport cart must be accommodated up to 300lb swine. Must have wheel and locking mechanism.

 Qty (1) Swine lift with swing must accommodate up to 300lb swine. Can be manual or automatic. 

Assembling, Modifications & Scope of Work Requirements:

Equipment must be user friendly assembly with no tools required. No building or room modifications are required.

Warranty:

Must include at least a one-year warranty. Contractor must service or provide replacement in the event of a malfunction no later than 48 hours after initial call.

Market research was able to identify other sources; however not all met the specifications that are needed. This is a notice of intent and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any responsible source who can provide the fulfill the exact equipment specifications, can provide information no later than September 8th, 8AM, CST.  Interest/capability statements may be sent to Stacy Taylor at Stacy.Taylor@va.gov.
