The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration, announces the availability of the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Bethel (BET) Airport West Apron Improvements project for public review. The project involves reconstructing and rehabilitating portions of the BET west apron, main apron, snow removal equipment building/aircraft rescue and firefighting ramp, taxiways E and G, and constructing a new perimeter service road with a fence, including upgrades to existing fencing and gates. A public open house is scheduled for October 6, 2026, and comments on the draft EA are requested by October 26, 2026.
