The Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), is seeking public nominations for membership on 20 statewide and regional Resource Advisory Councils (RACs). - Purpose: RACs provide advice and recommendations to the BLM on land use planning and management of the National System of Public Lands. - Geographic Scope: Councils cover various states and regions, each with vacant positions or expiring terms. - Nominee Requirements: - Must be residents of the state where the RAC operates - Evaluated based on education, training, experience, and knowledge of the relevant geographic area - Membership must be balanced and representative, in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) - Specific categories of membership defined by federal regulations - No products, services, OEMs, or vendors are involved; this is not a procurement opportunity. - Unique requirement: Ensuring diverse and representative council membership to advise on public land management.
Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), under the Department of the Interior, is requesting public nominations for 20 of its statewide and regional Resource Advisory Councils (RACs) that have vacant positions or members whose terms are expiring. These RACs provide advice and recommendations to the BLM on land use planning and management of the National System of Public Lands within their geographic areas. Nominations must be received by October 26, 2026, and nominees must be residents of the state in which the RAC has jurisdiction. The BLM will evaluate nominees based on their education, training, experience, and knowledge of the geographic area of the RAC.
