The Province of Prince Edward Island's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking contractors for the Eliot River Road Bridge Structure Replacement project in Green Bay. - Government Buyer: - Province of Prince Edward Island, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure - Scope of Work: - Complete replacement of the existing bridge structure on Eliot River Road, Route 249 - Includes demolition, excavation, slope protection, environmental controls, installation of steel and pipe piles, concrete formwork and reinforcement, cast-in-place concrete, timber bridge construction, structural steel barriers, placement of rip rap and gabion baskets, and roadwork with asphalt millings - Products and Materials Requested: - Steel piles (341.5 m supply, 230 m drive) - Pipe piles (149.4 m supply, 110 m drive) - Timber stringers (643.5 m), timber decking (237 m²), timber lagging (100 m²) - Concrete barriers (90 units), cast-in-place concrete (28 m³), concrete reinforcement (2800 kg) - Gabion baskets (30 m³), random rip-rap (R5: 50 t, R50: 75 t, R250: 700 t) - Granular base, gravel, backfill, filter fabric, RAP millings, hydroseeding, environmental controls, guardrails, traffic control devices - Unique and Notable Requirements: - All materials must conform to CSA S6-19 (CHBDC) standards and Department specifications - Environmental controls must be maintained until vegetation is established - Minimum slope requirements for driveways and embankments - Adherence to the Department's Environmental Protection Plan - Compliance with the Canadian Free Trade Agreement - Contract Details: - Construction must start by project commencement, bridge and roadway open to traffic within 70 working days, with a one-year warranty period following completion - No specific OEMs or named vendors; materials and services are generic and must meet provincial and national standards.

Description

This solicitation is for the complete replacement of the existing bridge structure on Eliot River Road, Route 249, in Green Bay, Prince Edward Island. The work includes excavation, slope protection, environmental controls, asphalt excavation, demolition and removal of the existing structure, installation of steel piles, concrete formwork and reinforcement, cast-in-place concrete, new timber structure, structural steel barrier, rip rap, gabion baskets, road work with asphalt millings, and all other necessary ancillaries. The project must be completed to the satisfaction of the Owner within a contract duration of 3 months. Bidders must comply with the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and submit proposals by the closing date.
