The City of Ames Water & Pollution Control Department is seeking a contractor for the Split Treatment Modifications Project at the Ames Water Treatment Plant. - Government Buyer: - City of Ames, Water & Pollution Control Department, Water Treatment Plant - OEMs and Vendors: - Andritz (centrifugal pumps) - Badger Meter (ModMAG/M2000 electromagnetic flow meters) - Products Requested: - Two Andritz ACP100-200.5S centrifugal pumps (or approved equivalent), each with variable frequency drive - Six ModMAG/M2000 electromagnetic flow meters (owner-furnished, installation only) - Approximately 35 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe with flanged joints - Pipe fittings: tees, elbows, reducers, valves (flanged, ANSI/AWWA standards) - Two tapping saddles and gate valves for live taps (24" x 6") - Butterfly valves, swing check valves, expansion joints, spool pieces (all flanged, ANSI/AWWA/ASTM standards) - Two concrete pads (approx. 5' x 2.3' x 1') for pump support - Five removable safety bollards (yellow, 36-60" height, 4.5" diameter) - Services Requested: - Electrical installation: conduits, high voltage and communication wiring, VFD and flow meter integration with SCADA - Live tap operations on two 24-inch water lines, including disinfection and leak prevention - Site security and contamination prevention compliance - Installation of concrete pads and safety bollards - General construction services for pipe, valves, pumps, and fittings - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All materials except flow meters must be supplied by contractor - Mandatory bid bond, performance and payment bonds, Iowa contractor registration, affirmative action compliance - Preference for Iowa-produced products and labor - Strict security and contamination prevention protocols at the water treatment plant - Completion required within 6-7 months from notice to proceed, by the specified deadline

The project involves installation of new pipe, valves, pumps, and fittings, including live taps of two 24-inch water lines, installation of ductile iron pipe and fittings, two centrifugal pumps with variable frequency drives, electrical work, and installation of a magnetic flow meter.
