Thunder Bay is seeking a contractor to manage and operate its Household Hazardous Waste Depot at the Solid Waste Recycling Facility. - Services requested: - Year-round operation of the Household Hazardous Waste Depot - Customer service for residents - Receipt, classification, sorting, bulking, processing, packing, and management of hazardous and special waste - Preparation for shipment, loading, transportation, diversion, and/or disposal of waste through licensed and City-approved facilities - Depot maintenance - Provision of a residential paint and chemical reuse service - Participation in Producer Responsibility Programs approved by the City - No specific OEMs, vendors, products, part numbers, or purchase quantities are mentioned - Contractor must comply with City-approved diversion and waste management programs - All aspects of hazardous and special waste management are included in scope

Description

This Request for Proposal (RFP) invites prospective proponents to submit proposals for the year-round operation of the City of Thunder Bay's Household Hazardous Waste Depot located at the City's Solid Waste Recycling Facility. The services required include customer service to residents, receipt, classification, sorting, bulking, processing, packing, management of on-site storage, preparation for shipment, loading, transportation, diversion and/or disposal of all collected hazardous and special waste through licensed and City approved facilities. The contractor is also responsible for depot maintenance, provision of a residential paint and chemical reuse service, and participation in Producer Responsibility Programs approved by the City for waste diversion.
