Description

This Invitation for Bids seeks competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors to establish an Agency Specific Term Contract to provide training for offenders within North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) Facilities to obtain Class A CDL License prior to release on an as-needed basis. The program targets offenders scheduled to be released within 12 months and aims to address the need for higher wages for former offenders and the demand for truck drivers in the private sector and potential state jobs. Initially, the program will be facilitated through Wake Correctional Center and North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) and may expand statewide after the pilot. Correction Enterprises, a division within the Department of Adult Correction, is responsible for providing marketable job skills to offenders prior to release.
