The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reorganized the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD). This reorganization includes consolidating offices, retitling divisions and branches, and modifying mission and function statements. The Influenza Division and the Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Diseases Division have been merged to form the Influenza and Respiratory Viruses Division. The new division focuses on prevention, surveillance, research, and response to respiratory viral diseases including influenza and emerging viral threats.
