Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Buffalo Bill Center of the West intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of sacred objects and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations identified in the notice. The repatriation involves two sacred objects, a stone and pouch, collected from a Crow Indian Reservation and donated to the Center in 1980. Repatriation may occur on or after October 9, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be submitted in writing to the authorized representative.
