The US Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Amplicon Sequencing Services to support microbial research at the Upper Midwest Water Science Centers' Michigan Bacteriological Research Laboratory. - Government Buyer: - US Geological Survey (USGS), Office of Acquisition and Property Management, Denver Science Acquisition Team - Upper Midwest Water Science Centers, Michigan Bacteriological Research Laboratory - Products/Services Requested: - Next-generation amplicon sequencing services, including: - Library preparation (PCR amplification, barcoding) - Sequencing using Illumina MiSeq or AVITI platforms - Quality control checks and data analysis - Delivery of sequencing data with quality metrics - Consultation for experimental design and sequencing technology selection - Web-based Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample upload and secure data delivery - All necessary plant, equipment, labor, supervision, and materials - OEMs and Vendors: - Illumina (MiSeq platform) - Element Biosciences (AVITI platform) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Sequencing services must support multiple projects focused on bacterial pathogens, harmful algal blooms, and antibiotic resistance - Emphasis on consistency and quality over a multi-year period - Data delivery required within 60 business days of sample receipt - Data must be archived for at least one year and accessible for a minimum of 60 days post-delivery - BPA not-to-exceed value of $250,000 over five years - Compliance with small business programs and federal acquisition regulations
