Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), Ball State University has completed an inventory of human remains and determined a cultural affiliation between the remains and several Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory includes human remains representing at least one individual with no associated funerary objects. The remains were acquired prior to 1938 and are connected to multiple tribes including the Absentee-Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Repatriation may occur on or after October 9, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to Ball State University.
