This includes acquiring a complete rock‑specimen cutting system capable of producing accurate, repeatable cuts on rock, coal, concrete, asphalt, and core samples; a computerized grinding machine that will significantly reduce specimen preparation labor while supporting major research projects such as seismic potential forecasting and panel‑well optimization; a creep test apparatus to provide essential time‑dependent rock‑property data for numerical modeling in coal and stone mines; and a triaxial testing machine required to determine cohesion and friction angle parameters for specimens collected from mine sites.
