Loeb Well No. 3 Rehabilitation and Pump Replacement Solicitation

The City of Beaumont Water Utilities/Administration is seeking bids for the rehabilitation and pump replacement of Loeb Well No. 3 in Beaumont, TX. - Government Buyer: - City of Beaumont, Water Utilities/Administration, Water Administration office - Products and Equipment Requested: - Steel fabricated/welded discharge head with motor register (1 unit) - New column assembly (12 x 3-1/2 x 2-3/16), including 260 feet of column pipe, oil tube shaft bearings, stainless steel airline, gauge assembly, and water level monitoring system (1 unit) - New well pumps (18DHC 6-stage oil bowl assembly) in three possible configurations: - 2,500 gpm at 245 ft TDH (1 unit) - 3,000 gpm at 280 ft TDH (1 unit) - 3,500 gpm at 320 ft TDH (1 unit) - Services Requested: - Contractor mobilization and demobilization - Well video inspection (initial and follow-up) - Installation and removal of steel tanks and temporary discharge piping - Chlorination of well - Well and pump performance testing - Testing of pump and motor assembly - Transport and installation of existing well motor - Re-installation of oil pot assembly - Well start-up and purging - Well site restoration - Acid treatment of well screens - Brush cleaning and agitation of well - Screen and casing repair (up to 5 units) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Final well pump size will be selected after performance testing - All work must comply with detailed technical specifications and restoration requirements - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; bidders may propose suitable equipment meeting the described specifications - Compliance with local bidder consideration and submission of required forms (bid bond, insurance, MBE participation, etc.)

Description

This solicitation is an Invitation to Bid for the rehabilitation and pump replacement of Loeb Well No. 3. The work includes contractor mobilization, well video inspection, installation and removal of steel tanks and piping, chlorination of the well, well and pump performance testing, supply and installation of discharge head and column assembly, testing of pump and motor assembly, transport and installation of existing well motor, well start-up and purging, and site restoration. The project also involves supply and installation of new well pumps with different capacity scenarios, with the final pump size selected after performance testing. Additional extra work items include acid treatment, brush cleaning, screen and casing repair, and follow-up video inspection of the well.
