This project involves the construction of a new two-story aquatic center as part of Phase 2 of the John Chavis Memorial Park Master Plan. The aquatic center will be located alongside the existing John Chavis Community Center and the historic Allan Herschell Carousel. The project includes approximately five acres of site development, construction of an indoor/outdoor aquatic facility, and Heritage Plaza. The facility will feature a 25,000 SF mixed-use interior space with pools, locker rooms, offices, and support spaces, as well as outdoor aquatic amenities including a lazy river and waterslide. Additional work includes site parking reconfiguration, Heritage Plaza upgrades, stone bridge repairs, and new trail connections.
