The City of Raleigh is seeking bids for the construction of a new two-story aquatic center as part of Phase 2 of the John Chavis Memorial Park Master Plan. - Government Buyer: - City of Raleigh, Engineering Services Department, Construction Management Parks Division - Project Scope: - Construction of a modern indoor/outdoor aquatic facility and Heritage Plaza - Site development covering approximately five acres - Facility includes a 25,000 SF interior space with assembly areas, locker rooms, administrative offices, mechanical/equipment rooms, storage, and support spaces - Indoor aquatic amenities: 3,160 SF competition/lap pool and 1,400 SF therapy pool - Outdoor aquatic amenities: 4,600 SF activity pool with lazy river, vortex, water recreation area, and two-story waterslide - Upgrades to Heritage Plaza, repairs to existing stone bridge, and new connections to South Park Heritage Trail - Construction Packages Requested: - Telescoping bleachers, window treatments, swimming pools, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC systems, HVAC testing and balancing, HVAC controls, electrical and fire alarm, low voltage, security, earthwork, asphalt paving, site concrete, fences and gates, landscaping, site utilities, turnkey sitework - Unique Requirements: - Prequalified subcontractors are invited to bid on specific construction packages - Emphasis on historically inspired public art installation and integration with existing park features - No specific OEMs or vendors are mentioned in the solicitation - All major civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and site utility systems are included in the scope

This project involves the construction of a new two-story aquatic center as part of Phase 2 of the John Chavis Memorial Park Master Plan. The aquatic center will be located alongside the existing John Chavis Community Center and the historic Allan Herschell Carousel. The project includes approximately five acres of site development, construction of an indoor/outdoor aquatic facility, and Heritage Plaza. The facility will feature a 25,000 SF mixed-use interior space with pools, locker rooms, offices, and support spaces, as well as outdoor aquatic amenities including a lazy river and waterslide. Additional work includes site parking reconfiguration, Heritage Plaza upgrades, stone bridge repairs, and new trail connections.
