Description

This solicitation is for the procurement of Silica Microsand to be used in the coagulation and flocculation process in surface water treatment for the removal of organic color and turbidity. The Silica Microsand must consist of hard, durable, and dense grains with a specific gravity greater than 2.5 and acid solubility less than 5%. It must be free of clay, dust, micaceous matter, and organic matter, with an effective size range of .130mm to 0.150mm and a uniformity coefficient of 1.75 or less. The product must comply with Federal and State Safe Drinking Water Act regulations and be NSF Certified for potable water treatment.
