The U.S. Geological Survey Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center is seeking small business laboratories to provide microplastics analysis services for environmental samples. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center - Services Requested: - Laboratory analysis of microplastics in environmental samples - Quantitative characterization of microplastic particles down to 2 microns - Use of optical, fluorescent, and Raman microscopy, chemical oxidation, and density separation - Direct laboratory performance required (no subsampling) - Detailed QA/QC procedures and delivery of results within 120 days of sample receipt - Sample Volume: - Approximately 20-45 samples annually from agricultural fields, wastewater plants, surface waters, and Galveston Bay - Contract period covers 2026-2029 - Unique Requirements: - Analysis must include morphological and chemical characterization - Results must be delivered within 120 days of sample receipt - Only small business laboratories are eligible - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named in the solicitation - No product part numbers or purchase quantities are specified
