Blount County Health Department is seeking bids from licensed general contractors for an ARPA-funded project to replace its emergency generator. - Government Buyer: - Blount County Health Department, via Blount County Purchasing Department - Project Scope: - Removal and disposal of the existing generator - Purchase and installation of a new 30 kW natural-gas emergency standby generator - Generator must be compatible with the existing transfer switch - Installation includes all equipment, materials, supplies, piping, fittings, valves, and appurtenances for a complete system - Site coordination, supervision, project setup, freight, delivery, rigging, placement, anchorage, vibration isolation, mounting hardware - Electrical and natural gas modifications, fire suppression system adjustments - Generator startup, commissioning, operational testing, and transfer switch testing - Products/Services Requested: - 1 x 30 kW natural-gas emergency standby generator (weather-protective enclosure, controls, battery, charger, standard accessories) - Associated installation, demolition, and commissioning services - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or generator brands named; bidders must propose and submit specifications for approval - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Generator manufacturer must be submitted for approval - Compliance with federal ARPA contract provisions - Bid, performance, and payment bonds required - Tennessee contractor licensing required - Background check compliance for employees entering school grounds - Record retention and adherence to Blount County's change order process - Lead times for generator/equipment must be stated in bid - Liquidated damages of $500 per day for late completion - All work must result in a fully operational, code-compliant emergency generator system.

Description

This Invitation to Bid (ITB) is issued to secure a General Contractor to remove and dispose of an existing generator and to purchase and install a new emergency generator compatible with the existing transfer switch. The scope includes installation of equipment, materials, supplies, associated pipe, fittings, valves, and other appurtenances required for the new generator. The contractor must construct the replacement generator complete in place and ready to operate. All bidders must be licensed contractors with the State of Tennessee as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994.
