Description
This project supports the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District by conducting Aerial Electromagnetic (AEM) surveys to assess the spatial extent and rate of saltwater intrusion in the ground and surface waters of the southern Florida Everglades. The results will be integrated with 30 years of previous survey data to understand impacts on critical habitat loss. Future trends of the freshwater-saltwater interface will be estimated to aid restoration management decisions. The base period is 12 months with four anticipated 12-month follow-on periods depending on funding availability.
