The Long Beach Utilities Department is seeking bids for the Groundwater Treatment Plant Filter Gallery Valve Rehabilitation Project - Phase 2. - Government Buyer: - Long Beach Utilities Department, Water, Gas, Sewer Division, Director of Water/Sewer Engineering - Products and Equipment Requested: - Replacement and rehabilitation of butterfly valves (sizes 12", 14", 24", 36", and 42") and electric actuators - Specific valves include backwash valves, air scour valves, filter effluent throttling valves, filter to waste valves, waste washwater valves, and filter inlet valves - Integration of new motor-operated valves (MOVs) with PLC/SCADA systems - Associated steel piping, Victaulic couplings, appurtenances, and electrical upgrades - Product Line Items (examples): - 5 x 36-inch Butterfly Valves with Electric Actuators (Backwash and Waste Washwater) - 10 x 24-inch Butterfly Valves with Electric Actuators (Washwater, Filter Effluent Throttling, Filter Inlet) - 5 x 14-inch Butterfly Valves with Electric Actuators (Air Scour) - 5 x 12-inch Electric Actuators (Filter to Waste) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All new actuators must be connected to the existing SCADA system - Coordination of plant shutdowns and dewatering for installation - Compliance with Long Beach Utilities and City of Long Beach standards - Polyurethane injection for crack repair in filter basins - Mandatory pre-bid meeting for all bidders - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs are named; bidders may propose equivalent products from leading manufacturers - Services: - Mobilization and demobilization - Selective site demolition - Location: Long Beach, California

Description

This project involves the removal, disposal, and replacement of existing butterfly valves, electric actuators, associated steel piping, Victaulic couplings, and appurtenances. It includes rehabilitation of steel spools, recoating existing surface wash water piping, replacing electrical conduits, struts, and junction boxes, and connecting new actuators to existing SCADA. Additionally, the work covers repair of cracks in filter basins by injecting polyurethane and related tasks.
