Description

The Province requires the services of a multiplane Amphibious Airtanker Group supported by one Birddog aircraft for wildfire suppression. The group must have a combined capacity of at least 10,000 litres with two to four purpose-designed Amphibious Airtankers, each with a minimum capacity of 3,000 litres and equipped with a compartmentalized or variable/constant flow tank. One turbine-powered birddog aircraft is also required. All aircraft must be supported by fully qualified Aircrew and meet Transport Canada certification and regulatory requirements. The contract guarantees 120 days of operation per aircraft annually over a ten-year period, with aircraft positioned throughout Alberta and potentially exported outside the province as needed.
