The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Woods Hole Coastal & Marine Science Center is seeking to procure a lightweight, high-resolution wideband multibeam echo sounder system for seafloor mapping in shallow and shelf-depth waters. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Woods Hole Coastal & Marine Science Center - National Acquisition Branch - OEMs and Vendors: - Norbit (WINGHEAD X Elite referenced as brand name or equivalent) - Products/Services Requested: - 1 x Wideband Multibeam Echo Sounder System - Lightweight transmit/receive transducer assembly (<17 lbs / <7.5 kg) - Curved receive transducer array - Carbon fiber pole mount with gunwale mounting kit and telescoping antenna mast - Integrated Applanix GNSS inertial navigation system - Real-time sound velocity sensor - Wideband operational frequencies (200–700 kHz, nominal 400 kHz) - Depth capability to 400 meters - High positional accuracy (+/-8 mm horizontal, +/-15 mm vertical) - Beam spacing resolution 0.5° across track, 0.9° along track - Multiple beam options, backscatter data output, factory calibration - Teledyne Reson s7k output data format - Cables up to 30 meters - 12V and 110V power input - Small ethernet-capable topside sonar interface - 4 days of on-site equipment and software training at the customer site - Unique or Notable Requirements: - System must be compatible with USGS data processing software - Must include acquisition suite of software - Must provide high-resolution mapping for depths less than 300–400 meters - Prohibition on certain foreign telecommunications and drone equipment - Compliance with sustainable product mandates - Delivery required within 10–30 days after receipt of order - All vendors must be registered in SAM and able to meet technical specifications

RFQ Norbit WINGHEAD X Elite Brand Name or EqualThis is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial product and services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.201-1, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This RFQ constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation is being issued, which can be found on www.sam.gov. The solicitation number is 140G0126Q0270 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ).This RFQ is set aside for small business concerns.The US Geological Survey (USGS) is requesting discounted open-market firm-fixed price quotation packages for a light weight (< 17 pounds transducer), portable, very high-resolution (0.5 x 0.9 meter beam widths @ 400 kHz) wideband (200 ¿ 700 kHz) multibeam echo sounder with an integrated GNSS inertial navigation system, the accompanying acquisition suite of software, as well as on-site equipment and software training. The proposed system is needed for digital acoustic seafloor mapping of U.S. near shore coastal waters and inland waterways as well as shelf depth (< 300 meters) seafloor characteristics.All vendors who can meet this requirement have a valid SAM UEI Number and are registered in the System for Award Management are invited to submit electronic quotes for this posted RFQ.All questions shall be submitted via email to the Contract Specialist, Patrick Anderson, at Patrick_anderson@ios.doi.gov no later than 01:00PM Eastern, Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
