The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), through its Bureau of Community Health and Prevention and the Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program (MTCP), is seeking proposals from Massachusetts public colleges and universities to implement tobacco and nicotine prevention and cessation initiatives for young adult students. - Government Buyer: - Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) - Bureau of Community Health and Prevention - Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program (MTCP) - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named; this is a service-based initiative for public institutions. - Services Requested: - Develop and implement evidence-based tobacco/nicotine prevention and cessation strategies - Increase awareness and access to cessation resources for students - Create and enforce campus policies for tobacco/nicotine-free environments - Collect, report, and evaluate program data - Participate in monthly virtual check-ins and annual workplan submissions - Engage in racial equity training and align with DPH's Principles for Racial Equity - Quantities and Funding: - Approximately 8 to 10 institutions will be funded - Annual award per institution: $11,000 to $15,000 - Total estimated contract value: up to $562,500 including renewals - Unique Requirements: - Must align with DPH's Principles for Racial Equity and participate in racial equity training - Compliance with ADA and prohibition on accepting tobacco industry funds - Must already have a contract under DPH's Master Service Agreement (RFR #247134) - Project funded by settlements from Juul Labs, Inc. - Emphasis on health equity and racial justice in all activities

Description

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is seeking to partner with Massachusetts public colleges and universities to implement tobacco and nicotine prevention and cessation activities targeting young adult students. The initiative aims to increase awareness and access to cessation resources, develop prevention resources tailored to young adults, and promote tobacco-free campus policies.
