Description

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors for the purchase, implementation, and support of an electronic patient observation system. This system aims to streamline the performance of pass checks, which are periodic recorded visits to a patient's room or in-facility location to record their demeanor and general well-being, essential for patient safety. The current manual data entry system is prone to human error and manipulation. The new system is expected to increase adherence by ensuring timely and accurate documentation of pass checks, thereby reducing adverse safety events. It is estimated to be used by 8-12 staff members per unit across approximately 175 units within OMH psychiatric centers, with an estimated total of 4,000 users for proposal purposes.
