Description

The City of Ames, Iowa is requesting proposals for professional services to conduct a Phase I Intensive Archaeological Survey and a Reconnaissance Level Historic Architecture Survey in the South Washington Project Area. The work includes cultural resource investigations and report preparation to meet requirements of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Iowa State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) as part of the Environmental Review process. The project area covers Washington Avenue from South 2nd Street to South 4th Street and involves street restoration improvements including asphalt pavement replacement, pedestrian facility upgrades, and utility improvements. The surveys will identify and document archaeological sites and historic standing structures to evaluate their eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places.
