The Province of Prince Edward Island's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking contractors for the complete replacement of the Park Corner Bridge structure. - Government Buyer: - Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Province of Prince Edward Island - Scope of Work: - Full bridge replacement including demolition, excavation, stream diversion, pipe structure installation, rip rap, asphalt paving, and environmental controls - Installation of a 2.4 m diameter concrete or HDPE pipe culvert - Removal and erection of flexbeam guardrails, gabion baskets, and site demolition - Key Products and Quantities: - 12,000 tonnes of common borrow - 750 tonnes of granular base - 1,800 m² of cold plane and stockpile - 90 concrete barriers - Multiple types and quantities of rip-rap, filter fabric, asphalt cement, tack coat, hydroseeding, and guardrail hardware - Precast concrete pipe culvert and HDPE pipe structure (design, supply, installation) - Unique Requirements: - All materials must conform to CSA S6-19 (CHBDC) and provincial specifications - Environmental controls and safety compliance are mandatory - Stream containment and realignment required - One-year warranty period after completion - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; contractors must supply compliant materials and structures - Period of Performance: - Construction starts no earlier than October 5, 2026 - 45 working days total (35 in 2026, 10 in 2027) - Completion milestones: November 20, 2026 (phase 1), June 25, 2027 (phase 2) - One-year warranty after completion

Description

This solicitation is for the complete replacement of the existing bridge structure at Park Corner. The work includes excavation, slope protection, environmental controls, asphalt excavation, stream containment and realignment, demolition and removal of the existing structure, supply and placement of pipe structures, rip rap, road work with asphalt paving, and all other necessary ancillaries to install the new structure to the satisfaction of the owner. The contract duration is estimated to be 2 months. The procurement method is competitive open bidding under the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
