The United States Sentencing Commission, an independent judicial branch agency, is seeking applications for voting membership vacancies in its Practitioners Advisory Group. - Opportunity is for six circuit memberships: - Fourth Circuit - Seventh Circuit - Eighth Circuit - Ninth Circuit - Eleventh Circuit - District of Columbia Circuit - No OEMs or commercial vendors are involved; this is not a procurement of products or services. - Applicants must: - Be attorneys with significant experience in federal sentencing or post-conviction issues - Devote substantial professional work to advocating for privately-represented individuals in the federal criminal justice system - Be in good standing with the highest court of their jurisdiction - Application requirements: - Letter of interest - Resume - The advisory group assists the Commission with statutory responsibilities, provides input on Commission activities, disseminates information on federal sentencing, and performs other related functions as requested.
