The 1890 CBG program aims to build the institutional teaching, research, and extension capacities of eligible 1890 Land-grant Universities through cooperative programs with Federal and non-Federal entities. It supports the White House Initiative to Promote Excellence and Innovation at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). The program offers grants for education, research, extension, and integrated projects with funding ranging from $50,000 to $750,000 per award.
