Description
Notice of Intent to Sole SourceThe U.S. Department of the Interior, Joint Administrative Operations, on behalf of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Jag Marine, Seward, Alaska, for dry-dock and shipyard services for the R/V Tiglax. The requirement includes dry docking the vessel, inspection access, rudder repair-related painting, and associated shipyard services in Seward, Alaska.Competition is restricted because Jag Marine is the only known shipyard within a reasonable distance capable of hauling out and dry docking the R/V Tiglax and available during the required performance period. Use of other capable shipyards would require significant additional vessel transit, fuel, crew time, and cost. This acquisition is being conducted using simplified procedures under RFO Part 12. In accordance with RFO 12.102(a), the Contracting Officer has documented the determination that only one source is reasonably available. All responsible sources may submit a response demonstrating their capability to meet the requirement. Responses received by 1:00 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, will be considered by the Government.Submit responses to:Tanner Frank Contracting Officer U.S. Department of the Interior, Joint Administrative Operations Tanner_Frank@ios.doi.gov
