Coast Guard Establishes Temporary Safety Zones for Fireworks and Kayak Race Events

This notice announces the establishment of temporary safety zones by the U.S. Coast Guard for two public events: - Government Buyer: - Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Coast Guard - Captain of the Port Detroit (Lake St. Clair event) - Sector Maryland-National Capital Region (Chesapeake Bay event) - Events Covered: - Fireworks display on Lake St. Clair near Grosse Pointe Farms, MI - Safety zone: all waters within a 560-foot radius of the launch site - Purpose: Protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from fireworks hazards - Kayak race in Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis, MD - Safety zone: adjacent to Sandy Point State Park and the William P. Description

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone on the navigable waters of Lake St. Clair for a fireworks display. This safety zone is intended to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with the over water fireworks display. Entry into the zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Detroit or their designated representative. The safety zone will be enforced on September 5, 2026, from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
